Rental Policies

We are delighted that you are interested in leasing a property from Associated Properties. In order to help you in making your decision, we have listed below the criteria for qualifying as a resident with us.

  • OCCUPANCY LIMITS: The total number of occupants must be appropriate for the leased property. (Dwelling must have at least 200 square feet of interior living area per occupant AND not have more than 2 occupants per bedroom)

  • Properties are generally shown M-F 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Call our office at 915-755-3800 for specific property viewing availability.

  • All adults (18 yrs and older) must submit an application.

  • There is a $35.00 NON-REFUNDABLE application fee per adult. Application fees must be paid in cash.

  • Applications are processed and verified using information provided by applicant. CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR RESIDENT QUALIFYING CRITERIA. Criteria evaluated include, but may not be limited to:

    • Credit History

    • Income

    • Employment History

    • Rental/Mortgage Payment History

    • Occupancy Policies

    • Individual Public Records

    • Criminal Records

    • Character References

  • Approved applications do not guarantee your rental. Rental properties are not removed from the rental market until the application(s) has been approved AND the Security Deposit has been paid.

  • The ability to hold a home WITHOUT RENT varies for each property and upon rental market availability. Call our office to inquire about the possibility to hold a particular home.

  • PETS: Pets are allowed in most properties with a written Pet Addendum and payment of Pet Fee(s). There is a two pet limit per household. Dogs must be of acceptable breed and must not weigh over 75 LBS based upon highest adult weight scale. Restricted breeds include, but are not limited to:

    • Akita

    • American Bully

    • American Pit Bull Terrier

    • American Staffordshire Terrier

    • Basenji

    • Boerboel

    • Cane Corso

    • Chow

    • Dalmatian

    • Doberman Pinscher

    • Dogo Argentino

    • Fila Brasileiro

    • German Shepherd

    • Great Dane

    • Great Pyrenees

    • Greater Swiss Mountain Dog

    • Malamute

    • Mastiff (any kind)

    • Pit Bull

    • Presa Canario

    • Rhodesian Ridgeback

    • Rottweiler

    • Wolf -hybrid

    To help insure ALL of our residents review our pet and animal-related policies, we use a third-party screening service to deliver this policy information and confirm our residents’ pet/animal status. We request ALL applicants/residents to complete a profile application based upon the pet/animal status. This process ensures we have formalized pet and animal-related policy acknowledgements and accurate records to create greater mutual accountability. Applicants can complete the pet/animal status portion of the application by visiting our Pet Screening & Pet Declarations link in the “For Renters” menu.

  • All Lease Contracts are for a minimum 1-year lease and renew automatically on a month-to-month basis unless renewed.
